Early morning walks include a view of the Pacific Ocean just over the hill from the house. Most days it's a very hazy vista. Because there are so many islands it is difficult to see the water.
Some animals graze freely. We see this horse most mornings and she and Sissy, our miniature schnauzer, have become best friends. The only problem is the horse tries to follow us home.
Sissy and the mare would nuzzle each other all day if we'd let them. Sissy's love affair with horses began when we visited my sister's ranch in Colorado. Ever since, we can't keep her away from horses and for some strange reason they all love her.
