Another section has 400 plus of these beautiful blue flowers called Agaponthus.

One of the garden lights - they ran electric lines throughout the garden and will hook these low level lights up soon.

This section has a lot of tropical plants that will make a beautiful display in a few months.

The well will have an iron top and will be filled with cascading flowers.

I took this picture early this morning from the bottom of the garden - a cloud of mist had settled around the house - the sod is beginning to turn a nice green color.
Mike finally got around to taking some inside shots.

Lot's of white walls - I will be making window treatments soon.

One of the workers is standing atop trimmed tree limbs and hacking away with his machete. OSHA would shut down our job site if we were in the states. Glad we're here instead.

Week four and the gazebo is only just underway. The guy shows up about once a week. Fortunately we don't have any garden parties scheduled soon.

The worker in the pink shirt is our new full time gardner - his name is Ricardo. He is a very hard worker.

Our flowering fence vines are taking off - Patricia says they will cover the fence in just a few months. They will have blue flowers that bloom year round.

We have one section of these bright yellow Day-Lillies - around 450 plants. We are beginning to see a few blooms.
My Eva gift plant now has 5 leaves.

Michael had to take this picture because of the heater I'm using to stay warm. Our mornings can be a bit cool. ||

I had an old pair of Air Force BDU's that were a perfect fit for our smallest gardener. He was so proud. Mike taught him to salute so all day long he went around saluting the other workers.

Our iron fencing is going up. The fence is made in the shop and then welded together on site.

Pieces of fence waiting to be welded.

The first span of the iron bridge is put into place between rain showers. The little general stands and supervises - give somebody a uniform and they immediately become a supervisor.

The foundation for the gazebo. As you can see we had a heavy rain yesterday - the rains are here.

Some of the iron fencing has arrived. We will fence the upper yard and the gazebo area to keep Buddy and Sissy from wandering.

The sod is going in - the lower garden is first - you can just make out a tropical garden in the little valley between the sod.

This was the first sod planted. Around the edge is a beautiful plant that has tiny purple flowers on it - it will grow into a low hedge. The team planted flowering vines all around the fencing. They will cover the barbed wire.

They laid the section of sod in about 15 minutes. They wanted to beat the rain.

These steps lead to the upper garden by the road. They will be finished in brown concrete with grass inlay on the steps.

Behind these workers is a huge pile of sod. They put it into wheel barrows to take down the hill. A big job.

These steps are behind the gazebo going down the left side of the garden.

The clouds swirl around Volcano Baru.

Early morning walks include a view of the Pacific Ocean just over the hill from the house. Most days it's a very hazy vista. Because there are so many islands it is difficult to see the water.

Some animals graze freely. We see this horse most mornings and she and Sissy, our miniature schnauzer, have become best friends. The only problem is the horse tries to follow us home.

Sissy and the mare would nuzzle each other all day if we'd let them. Sissy's love affair with horses began when we visited my sister's ranch in Colorado. Ever since, we can't keep her away from horses and for some strange reason they all love her.

Follow the yellow brick road. This walk path leads to the jungle beyond. A gate will be erected between the trees. The well is just beginning to take shape. It will have beautiful cascading flowers.

The first tree planted in the garden - a spiral ficus. It is beautiful.

Steps leading down behind the gazebo to the middle garden. This area is very steep so a decision was made to have steps instead of a path.
Carport complete with chandelier and tile floor

Two large areas planted so far - the team worked to noon today because it is Saturday. It is now 1:14 and mother nature has decided to give the garden a drink. A beautiful steady rain.

A gift from Eva a beautiful lady. When she gave me the plant four days ago it had only two leaves, now it has four. Wow things do grow fast here.

These plants don't seem very impressive yet, but Patricia assures me that we won't believe how quickly they will grow. I will take pictures of these every week to show their growth.
