Japanese Iris are in full bloom

The flowers that are surrounding the entrance are a bright orange

We have had a railing put on the steps by the car port - also the pampus grass is growing

Cats are all happy - the two females, on the left, still fight with each other regularly

I have planted these mornng glories around the gazebo - they are perenials - the others that were a darker purple were annuals and so they had to be replaced regularly - I like this color better

We decided to add a new flower bed to the lower garden - we have been working on this for a whole week - this one section of the garden is as big as our whole backyard was in Denver

This garden will have a lot of different flowers

Mike in the foreground is overseeing the operation, however this past couple of days he has worked as hard as the workers - he says he has a new appreciation for how much effort it took to build the garden

Beautiful black dirt - now the fun part starts - the flowers

I decided to go down to the lower garden to take pictures of the coffee blooming - Mike's banana trees are really growing

I planted some light green hosta type plants around the base of the orange tree

Here are the coffee blossoms

Coming back up the garden Sissy spies something in the hedge row across the garden - she is actually pointing in the picture - when I looked over I see a squirrel jumping around and then while I'm looking at the squirrel I see a huge snake make a strike for the squirrel - if you're afraid of snakes don't review the next pictures

If you look closely you can see the snake head and it's body is in the foreground just at the edge of the grass - I'm not sure what kind of snake it is I'll ask the gardener tomorrow

In the picture the snake is at the edge of the grass and it's head is just visible - it has yellow under it's jaw

The body of the snake was about 3 inches wide

When I got closer the snake turned and looked at me - I took this with a telephoto lens - I didn't want to get too close and I was holding Sissy

In this picture you can see the snake and if you look close right next to the flower is the head and front head of the squirrel - evidently the snake was after the baby squirrels that the pair of squirrels had in the hedge - the snake kept striking at the squirrels and they would jump back - I saw about three strike attempts before the snake took off - I went to the house and Mike came down - the snake was back and in the hedge - Mike saw it for a few moments before the snake took off again - Wow was this fun!

Noche and Mocha enjoying the morning sunshine while laying on the computer desk - one of their favorite spots - Mocha looks like an evil halloween cat in this poise

I took this picture for Matt and Stacy - our incredible sunsets are back! We are back on the terrace full time enjoying our beautiful Boquete weather. We never look at one of these sunsets that we don't drink a toast to Matt and Stacy - they were here one year ago enjoying a glass of wine and praising the sunsets!
